We continue to see a rise in vehicle burglaries and petty theft from vehicles. Leaving valuables inside a vehicle is an invitation for a burglar to break into your vehicle. Many auto-burglaries are “crimes of opportunity”. These crimes can often be avoided if simple preventative steps are taken. Lock your valuables inside the trunk of your car. Burglars are targeting purses, laptops, GPS units and MP3 players, which are easily sold. Additionally, computers, purses and wallets are highly desired targets that are stolen, to commit identity theft. Don’t hesitate to call the Sheriff Station if you see suspicious activity. We count on good people to be our “eyes and ears”
