A fundraising page has been set up for the four U.S Forest Service firefighter families who lost their homes on the second day of the Sand Fire.
The fire broke out in the wash north of Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country on June 22 and appeared to be knocked down at 20 acres when it jumped the train tracks and headed into the hills.
The next day, it hit the Bear Divide ranger station and destroyed the homes of the Chavez, Robledo, Toscano and Shock families while the “heads of household” were away protecting others.
Now, they need help to rebuild. Set up by Angelica Pizano, the YouCaring page is looking to raise $60,000 to help the families through a transitional period.

Didn’t these unfortunate folks have insurance?
