A suspect in a fatal hit and run collision in Lancaster on Tuesday morning, still at large when the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station alerted the SCV to be on the lookout Friday morning, turned himself in to authorities at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station around 6 p.m. that evening.
Eduardo Medrano Jr. was booked at the Lancaster station for felony hit and run and his bail was set at $250,000, according to an update from the Lancaster authorities.
On Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 12:01 a.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at 20th Street East and Lancaster Boulevard in Lancaster. An 11-year-old girl, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was airlifted to a local hospital and listed in extremely critical condition.
The driver of the other vehicle, 25-year-old, Eduardo Medrano Jr. was positively identified by multiple witnesses and seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle, a gold or tan Infinity 4-door sedan, license number 6MWM091, that drove up after the collision.
The girl died of her injuries on Thursday, surrounded by her family.
