Tip of the Week: Preventing Thefts from Vehicles While Using Parks, Hiking Trails, and Paseos

Santa Clarita has a lot of great parks, hiking trails, and paseos for us to all enjoy. Many of us when using these areas, are doing it for exercise and prefer to carry minimal items with us, so we leave those non-essential items in our vehicles. As such, our vehicles are left unattended and far out of our view. We need to assure that we are not making ourselves easy targets for vehicle thieves. Never leave purses, wallets, back packs, gym bags, or other high value items in the passenger compartment of your vehicle where they can be easily seen. Leave these items in the trunk and out of view. If this is not possible, consider either leaving these items at home, or carrying them with you in a back pack.

Take care, and be safe.
