The person killed in an early-morning crash on Soledad Canyon Road has been identified as 21-year old Luis Castillo of Canyon Country.
Castillo was a passenger in a car driven by his brother, Anthony Hernandez, 24, who was critically injured in the single-car collision.
Deputy Jeff Maag of the traffic office at the Santa Clarita Valley station was one of the investigators on the scene and said that speed was definitely a factor in the accident. They are hoping any witnesses to the crash will come forward. Maag said that Hernandez’s speed was “in excess of 80 mph.”
