A Lancaster man was killed and a teen injured in a rollover crash on the I-5 freeway, north of Palomas Wash early Tuesday morning.
Rick Alan Bradford, 55, and a 17-year-old female passenger, both from Lancaster, were in a 2008 Chrystler PT Cruisers, heading northbound on the I-5 freeway when the vehicle “veered to the left, off of the roadway an struck the drainage ditch… and rolled several times before coming to rest,” according to a California Highway Patrol report.
Bradford was pronounced dead at the scene and the 17-year-old passenger was take to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation but alcohol/ drugs are suspected to be a factor, according to the report.
All lanes were closed for about 20 minutes. The right two lanes were opened to traffic at 1:19 p.m. and all lanes were open by 4:30 p.m.
