Update from the Wildlife Waystation, Saturday 7:30pm:

The Waystation has been saved! The firefighters worked their butts off to contain the fires burning around the facility. That with the change in the wind direction, gave them a leg up on containment.

There are a few animals that are still coming out, but they have ceased evacuation of the rest of the animals, as they have been deemed SAFE.

We couldn’t have done it without our community of animal lovers … THANK YOU! It has brought so many tears of joy to our eyes to see how many people came forward to help us, and it couldn’t have been anything other than all of your good thoughts and prayers that created the miracle that saved all of these animals and the Waystation itself.

(Earlier Saturday)

WE NEED AN AIR CONDITIONED WAREHOUSE to temporarily keep the animals cool in. If you can help, please send a FB message or come directly to Wildlife Waystation. The phone lines are down.

We are still evacuating animals and still NEED FLATBED TRAILERS AND ENCLOSED TRUCKS. Please come directly to Wildlife Waystation. We are getting the animals to safety as quickly as possible. There is currently a lot of smoke and the fire is still 1/2 mile away.

Many people who do not have trucks or trailers have asked how they can help. Please consider making a donation or buying an item on the wish list for our animals during this difficult time.https://wildlifewaystation.worldsecuresystems.com/…/general… Transporting, gas, feeding and keeping our animals cool will all be costly and any donations will greatly help us. Thank you for all the thoughtful and supportive messages. We will continue to do our best to keep you updated. Photos are coming soon.

A very special thanks to the fire crews who have been incredible and stayed with us as long as they could. They are currently battling the fire from both sides.
