The Master’s College women’s soccer team has signed Suzanne Mabie, a native of Ladera Ranch, California.

“I chose to attend TMC because God lined things up for it to work for me at the last minute,” said Mabie. “Even after I was prepared to go to community colleg, my attention was grabbed by my love for soccer, missions, and more. TMC had been one of my top choices because of the high-quality Bible classes, professors, mature fellow students, missions-mindedness, and soccer level, among other aspects. I am still intensely excited about all of these things!”

Mabie enters her time with TMC with an impressive athletic resume crafted at Saddleback Christian Academy and in club soccer in the Southern California Developmental League (SDCL). The future Lady Mustang helped lead her teammates to an Oregon State Cup appearance, earned a variety of championship and finalist honors in various tournaments located in the Pacific Northwest, and refined her skills by training in Brazil and Peru.

Looking ahead to her time at TMC, Mabie aims to reach a number of goals.

“My goal is to become excellent in what I do, and to really refine my abilities all across the board with hard work. I want to be known for solid competition but also special companionship and friendship as a person and teammate. I also want to maintain and build good attitude and character, glorifying God at all times and not disappointing the Holy Spirit.”

When not competing, Mabie plans on majoring in English and Music for a career as a high school writing and a piano teacher.

Commenting on Mabie’s signing, TMC head coach Curtis Lewis said, “It is always amazing to me how God draws different players to our team. Sometimes you recruit girls for years and lose them at the last minute to another institution, and then there are instances like this where you had never even heard of the player and God draws them to TMC. These ones are special because they usually turn out the best. We are looking forward to seeing all that the Lord has for Suzanne over the next four years on and off the field.”

Lewis plans on slotting Mabie as a midfielder and a forward.

In 2015, the Lady Mustangs went 8-9-2 (5-5 GSAC) and look to build on those marks in 2016 with an experienced roster and a talented signing class.

Mabie and the Lady Mustangs will open the 2016 season with a road game on August 20 at the University of Antelope Valley.
