Valencia High School DECA/FBLA competed at the FBLA Gold Coast Sectional Conference Friday at West Ranch High School in a variety of business categories.
This conference was a part of the Future Business Leaders of America portion of Valencia DECA/FBLA, providing further education in business for their students. This conference was a stepping stone for students to continue onto the state conference, where they would be able to further compete in business categories.
Some of the categories that were competed in include business communications, accounting, and marketing.

Timothy Ahn: Accounting 4th Place, Business Calculations 4th Place.
Joel Beckwith: Business Communications 3rd Place, Sales Presentation 2nd Place.
Kristen Beckwith: Public Speaking 4th Place, Intro to Business Communications 10th Place.
Chris Carlsen: Marketing 2nd Place.
Jacob Chavez: Computer Problem Solving 7th Place, Intro to IT 4th Place.
Pablo Gratas: Marketing 2nd Place, Computer Problem Solving 6th Place.
Mark Gray: Public Speaking 6th Place.
Shani Tyson: Intro to Business 9th Place.
In addition to all of these awards, Timothy Ahn, Joel Beckwith, Christ Carlsen, Jacob Chavez, and Pablo Gratas all qualified to continue onto the State Leadership Conference, taking place in Ontario, California, April 14-17. Valencia DECA/FBLA works to combine classroom education with interactive business competitions to teach students in leadership, management, and entrepreneurship.
