Beginning Tuesday evening, June 26 at 7 p.m., the Theological Thinkers series at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Santa Clarita will present a summer-long conversation about change in today’s Christian Church.
Based upon writer Phyllis Tickle’s work on the “Emerging Church,” which posits that Christianity goes through a “rummage sale” every 500 years or so and that we are living in such a time right now, the discussion will seek to answer such questions as:
What should we throw away? What should we keep? What should be repurposed? What is the Emergent Church? What is the Postmodern Church?
Join the sure-to-be lively discussion in St. Stephen’s upstairs lounge on June 26th and continue the conversation at following sessions on July 24th and August 28th.
All sessions are free and open to the public. Readings suggested for the series will be announced at the first session but are not required for participation.
St. Stephen’s is located at 24901 Orchard Village Road near Lyons Avenue. Phone the church office at 661-259-7307 for further information.
