[KHTS] – An allegedly intoxicated man was arrested early Saturday in connection with a hit-and-run collision in Canyon Country.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to reports that the driver of a truck had rear-ended a Scion at Sierra Highway and American Beauty Drive at approximately 12:52 a.m. and fled the scene, said Lt. Rob Hahnlein.
Deputies located the truck traveling near Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road soon afterward and conducted a traffic stop.
“(The suspect) was under the influence of alcohol,” Hahnlein said. “(Deputies) detained the driver and arrested him without further incident. He was cooperative.”
The suspect was still in custody at the SCV Sheriff’s Station at 10 a.m. Saturday.
