Newhall, Zone 6

A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.

Between Saturday the 29th at 9:30 p.m., and Sunday the 30th at 6:00 a.m., a business in the 24300 block of Main Street was burglarized. A door was forced open and some property was damaged, but at the time of the report it did not appear as though anything was missing.

Two window smash vehicle burglaries occurred between Tuesday the 25th at 10:00 p.m., and Wednesday the 26th at 5:00 p.m., near Ficus Drive and Trumpet Drive. Cash, sunglasses, and personal papers were stolen from the vehicles.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle on Thursday the 27th, between 10:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m., in the 24100 block of Arch Street.

Between Tuesday the 25th, and Wednesday the 26th, a 2006 Toyota Scion was stolen from the 23700 block of Valle Del Oro. The vehicle was recovered in Ventura County on Saturday the 29th.

On Tuesday the 26th, between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., a Dodge Ram truck was stolen from the 23700 block of Via Canon. The truck has not been recovered yet.

On Tuesday the 25th, between 4:35 p.m. and 4:40 p.m., a boy’s BMX bicycle was stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 24200 block of Race Street.

5 adult males were arrested in the Newhall area last week. 2 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 1 for drunk in public, 1 for possession of marijuana on a school campus, and 1 for possession of a stolen motorcycle.

With the holidays upon us, we all need to be extra careful securing our belongings. Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave packages or valuables in plain view, be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious behavior. If you have packages delivered to your business or residence, be sure somebody is available to receive them. Any type of package left unattended or visible, is a very tempting treat for a would-be thief.
