The South Coast Air Quality Management District has extended Monday’s unhealthy air alert into Tuesday.
Tuesday’s alert from the South Coast Air Quality Management District also applies to sensitive individuals in the Antelope Valley, the San Gabriel Mountains, the East San Gabriel Valley and the West San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles County Interim Health Officer Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, MD, MPH, advises people living or working in these areas with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities.
Schools with children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not participate in outdoor physical activity and should stay indoors as much as possible.
