Maj. Stephen Del Bagno, a United States Air Force Thunderbirds team member who died last week, will make his final trip home this weekend.
Officials are warning local residents to be aware of traffic closures and loud noises from the planned flyover and 21-gun salute that will be occurring during Del Bagno’s memorial at Saugus High School on Sunday evening.
The funeral procession will begin at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary and travel to Saugus High School between 4-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 15. Intersections along the route will be blocked off as the processional travels through the valley.
More than 500 people are expected to attend the memorial at Saugus High.
A plaque on the Saugus High School military Wall of Honor will be added in memory of Del Bagno.

do you know what year the Maj. graduated Saugus High?
He graduated in 2001.
Yikes. Only 2 years younger than me.
Thanks for letting us know.
Is this a private service or is the public invited as well?
We haven’t been able to get a clear answer to that question.
So young.?
Do you know what way the procession is going I’m sure people would like to line up on the streets or corners.
Jordan Roberts Saugus. Pet warning.
I’m thinking around 5 in Saugus. Wonder if the dog park knows. I can hear the Saugus band from my backyard. I’m sure the gunshots are going to scare the dogs. ?
I agree. They sound like firecrackers.
