Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive people in the Santa Clarita Valley on Monday, according to an advisory from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
The alert also applies to sensitive individuals in the Antelope Valley, the East San Fernando Valley, South San Gabriel Valley and the Los Angeles County mountains.
Air quality is deemed unhealthy for all in the East San Gabriel Valley.
Los Angeles County Health Officer Muntu Davis, MD, MPH, advises people living or working in the affected areas who have heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities.
Children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma, and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not participate in outdoor physical activity at schools, camps and other recreational programs and should stay indoors as much as possible.
