UPDATE, 1:20 p.m.: Caltrans reports Interstate 5 is now open in both directions through the Grapevine, and urges drivers to be cautious due to residual snow, ice and wet pavement.
Original post, 11:40 a.m. Monday:
All northbound lanes of Interstate 5 remain closed at Parker Road in Castaic through the Grapevine until further notice due to snow and ice, Caltrans reported Monday morning.
Southbound lanes are open but California Highway Patrol officers are providing escorts.
Other road closures until further notice include State Route 2, Angeles Crest Highway, in both directions from Mt. Wilson Road/Red Box (124 miles north of the 210 Freeway) and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road due to a rockslide, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
Angeles Forest Highway is closed from Upper Big Tujunga to State Route 2, from Big Tujunga Canyon Road to Vogel Flats, and from Aliso Canyon to Big Tujunga Canyon Road due to icy road conditions, DPW reports.
The National Weather Service is predicting sunny, breezy and mostly clear conditions through Wednesday night, when a 40 percent chance of showers is expected. The odds increase to 60 percent Thursday, but Friday should be sunny. Temperatures are expected to range from daytime highs in the low-to-mid 50s and nighttime lows in the mid-to-upper 30s through Friday.
