Alison Lee, a freshman at UCLA, won the PAC-12 Individual Women’s Golf Championship
Former Valencia High golfer Alison Lee, now a freshman at UCLA, won the PAC-12 Individual Women’s Golf Championship by three strokes Sunday at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvalis, Oregon.
Lee shot a three-round score of 5-under 211 at the 7,000-yard par-72 course, three strokes ahead of Arizona’s Lindsay Weaver and four ahead of USC’s Doris Chen.
Despite Lee’s score, her UCLA Bruins, which entered Sunday’s final round in the lead of the team competition, fell to fourth. Stanford won the team title with a 5-over 869, one stroke ahead of both Arizona and USC and two ahead of UCLA.
Lee’s final round of 3-under 69 was aided by four birdies. She is the fourth Bruin to win the individual title and fourth consecutive freshman to win the PAC-12 championship.
In 2013, Lee was named the American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year
