New Branch for ARTree Classes

The ARTee is happy to announce its first series of classes at Spotlight Art Center in Newhall. The popular Arts Sampler course will run for four weeks starting Tuesday, February 4th from 4:15pm to 5:45pm. In these classes students will explore drawing, printmaking, and water color inspired by African themes. Dianne Foderaro, ARTree’s education chair, is updating the course with the assistance of ARTree’s volunteer instructors.

The Spotlight Art Center classes are for young artists 6 to 12 years old. Future classes will be offered to teen students. Keeping with the ARTree philosophy of bringing arts education to kids at a low cost, the four one-and-a-half hour classes are only $80, including all materials. To enroll, contact us at www.theartree.org or Spotlight Arts Center at (714) 277-1738.

New Time for Newhall Library Classes

The popular and growing art project classes at the Newhall Library are changing time schedule. Starting February 7th, the first and second Friday classes will be from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The group projects have used items such as balloons, strings, and calendars to create works of art over the two-week sessions, with works being displayed in the library’s main lobby.

The library art classes are for students 10 years of age and older, and there is no registration or fee. This is a great after school activity, so stop in for an hour of adventurous art.

And, if That Isn’t Enough…

Future classes on our schedule include a six-week course at the SCSC Activity Center. This class will teach 3D Art (no hi-tech printer required), featuring wire sculpture, clay and plaster design beginning May 1st. See the current SEASON magazines in the Art Classes section for details and enrollment information.

Then, on June 23rd, we return to the Canyon Country Community Center after a very successful course last year. All of our classes fill up quickly so plan ahead to avoid being placed on the waiting list.
