Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information
Snapshot 04/01/2013 – 04/07/2013
Last week in Canyon Country-East we had eight Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 residential burglary, 3 larcenies, and 4 vehicle burglaries.
A residential burglary occurred in the 27300 block of Palo Verde Place on April 5th, 12:00 am – April 7th 11:40 PM. The unknown suspect(s) entered the apartment through the front door. Deputies observed damage to the entry door, the door frame, and the door knob. Nothing was taken.
A grand theft occurred in the 29000 block of Wisteria Valley Rd on March 30th, 1:00 pm – April 30th, 8:00 am. An iron bench was stolen from the victim’s front porch. In another incident, a male was arrested after it was discovered he was in possession of property that did not belong to him. A petty theft occurred from the 28400 block of Alder Peak Avenue. Personal items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Vehicle burglaries occurred from Jakes Way and Canyon Park (1) and Oaks Springs Canyon Road (3) between April 5th 10:00 PM – April 6th 8:00 AM. All were window smashes and personal items were stolen.
There were 10 arrests made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, assaults and public intoxication.
Make sure to always park in well-lit areas and be cognizant of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious activity either close to your home or while you are out shopping, call the Sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
