U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer
[Sen. Boxer] – U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., sent a letter Monday to Attorney General Eric Holder in support of the Justice Department’s decision to review the evidence in the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman case to determine whether Trayvon Martin’s civil rights were violated.
“I respect the fact that the jury has spoken in the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman case, but I don’t think this should be the last word,” Boxer wrote in the letter. “I fully agree with the decision of the Justice Department to review the facts of this case to determine whether Trayvon Martin’s civil rights were violated.”
Boxer added, “Trayvon Martin’s death was a tragedy and has raised many sensitive and important issues. We should explore every avenue in an effort to ensure that something like this never happens again.”

She obviously doesn’t respect the jury’s decision – just like with prop 8, the federal government apparently gets the final say.
