[Gov. Brown] – Gov. Edmund G. “Jerry” Brown Jr. issued proclamations Tuesday declaring special elections for the 7th, 21st and 37th Senate Districts of the State of California on May 19, 2015.
The primary for these special elections will be held on March 17, 2015.
The 21st Senate District seat is the office vacated by former Sen. Steve Knight, R-Antelope Valley, when he was elected to Congress in November to succeed Buck McKeon.

SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION
BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 19th day of May, 2015, within the 7th Senate District of the State, to fill the vacancy of the office of State Senator from that district resulting from the resignation of Senator Mark DeSaulnier.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 13th day of January 2015.
