Child & Family Center announced Friday that its Center Board and Foundation Board will merge into one single governing body later this year. The Center Board currently oversees policies and lends its expertise in business management. The Foundation’s mission has been to raise community awareness and indispensable funds to support the work of the Center. Over the next couple of months, the merger details will be finalized and the two separate organizations will operate as one Board of Directors.

“The boards have decided that we could work more effectively together as one entity and operate under the more traditional model of a single organization,” said Bill Cooper, Board Chair. “The foundation feels this merger will promote further efficiency, and align the strengths of its board members to better serve the center as a whole and be more effective in serving our clients’ needs,” said Nick Lentini, Foundation Board Chair.
Under the leadership of Dr. Joan Aschoff, President/CEO, the Center remains a recognized leader in mental health services for children, serving over 650 children, teens and families each week with a staff of 130. The Center continues to evolve to meet the community’s needs for counseling, education and support services that address the entire family with a comprehensive range of prevention, early intervention, evaluation, therapeutic services and crisis management. In addition, the Center partners with local schools and social support agencies to provide comprehensive and integrated care for its clients.
Lois Bauccio, who recently announced her resignation, has held the position of President/Executive Director of the Foundation for the past ten years. “On behalf of our board and staff members, we thank Lois for her years of dedication and service to the Center and to those we help in our community,” said Dr. Aschoff. “She has been a passionate advocate for the Center’s mission developing support and awareness within our community and will be missed by all of us here at Child & Family Center.”
