The College of the Canyons Financial Aid Office will conduct its annual ‘Cash For College’ workshop event, providing students and parents with important information about the various types of financial aid available to them, along with details about how to apply.
The ‘Cash for College’ workshop event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons.
The same workshop will be delivered in Spanish during a presentation being held in the Student Center cafeteria at the same time.
At the event, representatives from the college’s Financial Aid Office will be on hand to assist students and families with a variety of common questions regarding the steps needed to apply for aid, as well as how to navigate the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
“We understand that application forms can be daunting, so we will walk attendees through the process and answer all financial aid-related questions,” said Tom Bilbruck, Financial Aid Director at College of the Canyons. “Additionally, this workshop will explain what to expect after you’ve submitted the FAFSA and other financial aid related materials.
“Determining how you and your family will pay for college can be a stressful experience,” added Bilbruck. “But after attending the ‘Cash for College’ workshop you can be confident in knowing that you have completed an important first step in helping to make college more affordable for your family.”
The ‘Cash for College’ event is free to attend with no reservation or pre-registration required.
Additionally, parking in all COC student parking lots will be free for this event.
