The lovely music of the handbell choir doesn’t mask the ugliness that lives in Highland Hall. This is a very deceptive school (as evidenced by high turnover and false claims about college attendance). The philosophy that forms the basis of the school is Anthroposophy, which has lots of racist elements. Highland Hall taught and defended racist (white promoting) lessons to my child. People should know what kind of school is being represented here. Enjoy the handbells, but know they don’t ring out for freedom and equality… they ring to promote a school with a racist philosophy. Bell choirs are just one of many appealing aspects that attract people to Waldorf schools. Most Waldorf parents, students and graduates have no idea that the curriculum is designed to indoctrinate children in Anthroposophy’s mumbo jumbo, which includes pseudoscience, occult rituals such as eurythmy, and an emphasis on mythologies that are an important part of Anthroposophy. This is possible because parents have little access to what really goes on in the classroom and students have no way of knowing whether or not what they are being taught is true or false, normal or nonsense. Former Waldorf student Roger Rawlings has written extensively on the Waldorf nonsense he was exposed to as a child. More recently, Gregoire Perra in France, a former Waldorf student, Waldorf teacher and First Class Anthroposophist, has publicly exposed exactly how Waldorf schools secretly indoctrinate children and deceive parents. The French Federation of Steiner Waldorf schools sued Perra in court for defamation. They lost.
