The Santa Clarita City Council elections are coming up on April 8, 2014. In an effort to help the local real estate community and the broader Santa Clarita Valley get to know the candidates, the Southland Regional Association of Realtors SCV Division is hosting a City Council Candidate Review Forum.
The forum is open to all members of the Southland Regional Association and the general public, scheduled for Wednesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the SRAR office on Soledad Canyon Road.
Each of the eight candidates, including incumbents Laurene Weste and Marsha McLean will be given nine minutes to introduce themselves and answer questions posed by SRAR officials.
The forum will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Alan Ferdman.
The rest of the candidates are scheduled as follows:
8:40 a.m. – Gloria Mercado-Fortine
8:50 a.m. – Duane Harte
9:00 a.m. – Dante Acosta
9:10 a.m. – Maria Gutzeit
9:20 a.m. – Laurene Weste
9:30 a.m. – Berta Gonzalez Barbier
9:40 a.m. – Marsha McLean
The candidates will first be asked to “enumerate what you have done for the community of SCV and Real Estate over the past 10 years and why do you deserve to represent SCV?” according to an SRAR press release.
The second question has not been provided to the candidates in the past.
To close the forum, John Wong, candidate for Los Angeles County Tax Assessor, will make a short presentation.
