“Stop Hate and Respect EveryoneStop Hate and Respect Everyone” is the message behind the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s S.H.A.R.E. Tolerance Program, which made a stop in Val Verde Wednesday morning.
The department’s S.H.A.R.E. mobile trailer display visited the Youth Activities League Center in Val Verde to talk to approximately 40 students, ranging in age from elementary school kids to high schoolers.
LASD personnel developed the S.H.A.R.E. Tolerance Program to positively impact the estimated 8,000 hate crimes reported annually within Los Angeles County.
Crime Prevention Zone 2 leader Deputy Brian Rooney oversees the Val Verde YAL center, which provides a safe, positive place for students to go after school and during the summer.
