The month isn’t even close to being over yet – not with all of the exciting workshops and recruitments happening at the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center.

 

JOBS, JOBS, & MORE JOBS.

pacificprotectionsecuritySecurity Guard Recruitment on Tuesday, February 25 at 11:30 am.  Pacific Protection Services, Inc. is looking to fill more than 30 security officer positions in the Santa Clarita Area for a corporate account.  They need to immediately fill full-time, part-time and back-up positions for a local corporate account.  Bring your credentials, guard card, social security card, and a valid State I.D. Come prepared to interview.  Eligible candidates MUST have a valid/current BSIS Guard Card.

Manufacturing Job Fair to take place on Friday February 28 from 10 am – 2 pm.  Nearly a dozen employers have already signed up to participate and are looking to fill a wide variety of positions in manufacturing including Quality Control, Machine, Operators, Sales, Welders, Customer Service, Maintenance Mechanics and more.  Come and meet the decision makers at the companies you want to work for including Pharmavite, Balboa Water, ADI, Superior Thread Rolling, Bocchi Labs, Adecco, Aerotek, RemX, and more. Successful Sales Skills for your Job Search, Monday, February 24th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm –   Whether you are a seasoned sales professional, or need help selling your skills to a potential employer, this is the workshop you’ve been waiting for.  Dan Ryan has more than 16 years of successful experience in sales management and will be here to help you sharpen your sales skillset and enhance your ability to reach your employment goals.

Transportation Planning Workshop, Wednesday 11 am to 12:30 pm – Do you need help finding transportation to school, work or in your job search?  Learn how to find a bus route, read a bus schedule, and find discounts for your transportation.  If eligible, a transportation assistant will be assigned to travel with you and teach you how to use public transportation.

Department of Rehabilitation Orientation – Wednesday 1 pm to 2 pm – Do you have a mental or physical disability that is interfering with your ability to find or keep a job?  This orientation will provide an overview of the services offered by the Department of Rehabilitation to assist you and the eligibility requirements.

Understanding the Affordable Care Act for Jobseekers, Thursday 10 am to 11 am – Unemployed and stressed about not having any health insurance for yourself while you look for your next job?  Come and join us to learn how to get health insurance utilizing the benefits of the new Affordable Care Act.  A representative will be here to explain some of the options and the steps you need to take to begin the enrollment process.

Warehouse/Light Industrial Resume Workshop, Thursday 1 pm to 2 pm – Are you looking for employment in warehouse or manufacturing?  Thea Arnone from Volt Staffing works with several companies in and around the SCV to fill their entry to mid-level positions and knows what the employers want to see on your resume.  Join her as she takes you through the process of creating an effective resume specifically for those types of positions.
