Santa Clarita News [KHTS] – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Castaic Saturday morning and one arrest has been made.

An unidentified woman in her 20’s was found unresponsive by her husband in the 36200 block of Paradise Ranch Road in Castaic Saturday morning. The husband called 9-1-1 due to her non-responsive condition.

Homicide detectives interviewed the husband and arrested him for murder, said Lt. Steve Jauch with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.

“That can happen based on what he says in the interview,” said Jauch.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy which will be conducted on Monday afternoon, however the results may not be conclusive immediately, Jauch said.

If the autScreen Shot 2015-10-26 at 11.33.37 AMopsy reveals that the woman did not die based on assault, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office may not file charges, said Jauch.

The victim suffered physical trauma to her upper torso, but it is unknown if her injuries are related to her cause of death, according to a news release.

There is no additional information at this time and the investigation is on-going.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

  13. Jeanne says:

I heard they went to a bar and were drinking. Fighting. He hit her and she hit her head when she fell. They went home together. Later the next morning she was unresponsive. Could be a slow acting brain swell situation.

I don’t know if she did drugs or not so not sure about whether that could be it.

I heard his brother is in prison for manslaughter and the grandmother is raising his kid (kids?). No this son too? Who is going to raise these kids?

This was a friend of my daughter. So sad.
I thank God it was not my daughter.

  14. Chantelli says:

  19. Fatin Patrus says:

Such a sad story. May she rest in peace. Sending prayers to the family, especially the sweet kiddos.

  20. How sad to feel you have nothing better than to live in an abusive relationship. I didn’t know this girl but I will pray for all those grieving and take comfort in the fact that is no longer has to endure such pain and suffering

  21. Jeanne says:

I heard more about what happened. I guess she wanted to have a date night at a bar where her sister worked. She was drinking very heavily.
On the ride home she punched him in the face for arguing with her about dancing with some guy. I don’t know if he hit her then or what but she was the start of the fight. I guess it is too early to say who or what caused this.
Being so drunk she could have fallen and hit her head. The “trauma to her chest” was him trying to give her CPR when she would not wake up in the morning.

  22. Any husband or boyfriend who would lay his hands on his physically weaker counterpart is a b*t*h. From what I understand he has a history of domestic violence with this young woman. I have been married for 10 years and have been in very heated arguments with my wife, and not once did I hit her. If it is proven that he is guilty I hope that he rots in prison.

  23. Dennis says:

The service yesterday was wonderful. Big thanks to Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills for donating the entire service so the family did not have to pay for anything.
