Tune in to SCVTV for live coverage of the election returns of local interest when the polls close Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The College of the Canyons Cougar News team will be reporting from the SCVTV Media Center in Santa Clarita and venturing out to the local candidates’ election-night parties for interviews.
It will be a three-peat for the Cougar News team, which provided live election-night coverage of the 2008 presidential election and California’s 2010 gubernatorial election, with results from local races, as well.
Of particular local interest this time around are the race for Congress between incumbent Republican Buck McKeon and his Democratic challenger, Lee Rogers; the race for a vacant Assembly seat between Republican Scott Wilk and Democrat Edward Headington; and two state senate races – one pitting Republican Steve Knight against Democrat Star Moffatt, and the other pitting Democrat Fran Pavley against Republican Todd Zink.
Also of local interest is a school bond election for the Castaic Union School District and a runoff for County District Attorney between Jackie Lacey and Alan Jackson.
The COC media arts students will be staying on top of presidential election returns from across the country, as well as results for the state and county ballot measures.
COC’s live coverage can be seen in multiple SCVTV locations: Channel 20 on the Time Warner Cable system; Channel 99 on AT&T U-verse; the SCVTV.com home page; the COC Cougar News website (CougarNews.com); and on the SCVNews.com page where up-to-the-minute results will be posted. Results will also be posted on the AM-1220 KHTS website (Hometownstation.com).
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. To find your polling place, check LAVote.net.
