Employees at the Chevron gas station on Bouquet Canyon and Newhall Ranch roads in Valencia found the body of an unidentified 53-year-old man lying on the ground Friday morning at about 8:15 a.m. The man was unresponsive and bleeding from the head.
Fire Department paramedics and sheriff deputies arrived within minutes of the 9-1-1- call and pronounced the person deceased.
The body was found next to the victim’s gold Mercury Grand Marquis.
Deputies at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station believe the man died from natural causes, probably a heart attack.
Coroner’s officials were still waiting Friday afternoon for confirmation that the victim’s next of kin had been notified, and did not expect to be in a position to release his name before Saturday.
