Bummer.. One of my faves–ho cake & beer
Losers hang out in this area when everything closes. They need to invest in a surveillance system for this entire street.

Probably local homeless people, they know there’s no money in there.
The corner liquor store attracts a lot of the homeless as well as a negative element to that area.

Such a shame
Newhall is trying so hard to be all new and hip, but they really need more security officers driving around to make it feel safe. This just proves my point. How much would it be to have some rent a cop patrolling the area at night? I think well worth it. I know I would definitely eat at newhall Refinery more often if it felt safer walking back to my car afterwards.
Oh man that is just not right! Josh N Rica Cabigas
Horrible! That area still needs a lot of work but I’m hopeful!
Really doubt it’s homeless…theres a food pantry right up the street. My guess is kids…..
I live here near the liquor store and the drunks in the park are obnoxious to say the least, fighting, yelling, holding up traffic strolling slowly across the streets, lots of drug dealers around here and bad older kids being a nuisance… I wish the city was more proactive in cleaning things up over here in Newhall. The camera idea is a good one!
What park william s park or the morel to the vets?
That’s what we get when liberals are in office… Sad but true!
Drop a sheriff sub station on the block
Welcome to the neighborhood.
Wow Gabe Perez Mike Lawry
Damn
Crime is always such a shame. In this case, it just proves you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Before the city made the decision to “revitilize” this end of town, perhaps they should have asked for public opinion (if they did, I missed it). Instead, they went ahead with their ideas (once again) and it didn’t pan out. The city has poured $$$ into this part of the city for so long now and nothing has worked in my opinion. They caused closures of stores that we used to patronize (Newhall Hardware, Billy’s, etc.) and for what? Now they have a beautiful library where I would never leave my children alone to do their homework (transient issue). I’d rather have my tax dollars go to clean up other areas of town where there’s potential for a future. I wonder how many city officials frequent downtown Newhall whether it be during the day or night??
How awful… These small business owners are trying to breathe new life and employment opportunities into this area and this is the thanks they get?! ? Crime doesn’t pay…hard work does!!
