10by10_2016Thursdays@Newhall’s 10 by 10 variety show continues to amuse and entertain attendees month after month and November should be no exception.

On Thursday, November 3, beginning at 7:00 p.m., enjoy an evening at the Repertory East Playhouse in Old Town Newhall, located at 24266 Main Street.

One of 10 by 10’s favorite performers, The New Mexican, will be returning to the stage for the classic one man blues band performance. His ability to simultaneously play percussion instruments, a slide guitar, a lead guitar and a banjo amazes again and again.

Sam Feirstein, writer and television producer, will be bringing storytelling to the 10 by 10 stage. He regularly performs at storytelling shows around Los Angeles and is a multi-winner of the Moth Story Slam. His story, “Alaska Bingo,” can be heard on the KCRW radio series, “Strangers.”

Musician John Austin is a throwback to that “Old Southern Sound and Attitude.” Attendees will not want to miss the honest, storytelling quality that characterizes John’s performances.

Comedy will be served by comedian, actress and singer, Jeanne Whitney. Jeanne can regularly be found performing at The Comedy Store in Hollywood and this summer she was featured in promos for Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle.”

Sketches, parodies, short films and pranks will all be put into one neat package in the unique act, Channel Surfing. This performance will provide a variety of clips that range from hilarious to eye-opening.

Contributing his own taste for life will be storyteller Monte. His humor, writing and experience with good food are shared weekly on his blogs, “Off the Eatin Path with Monte” and “Breakfast Blogman.”

“Similitude,” a short film by Tim Guzman, will explore themes such as humanity’s longing for connection and the world of dreams versus reality. This film was based on Tim’s poem “The Stranger” and was adapted for the screen by himself and writer Barry Morgan.

Melanie Carrol-Dolci will be contributing her own musical talents. Melanie is a singer-songwriter who enjoys engaging the weird side of life. From sleepy Kansas City, Missouri she traveled to Santa Clarita to attain her BFA in Music Composition, which she accomplished in 2014.

From his experiences in acting, comedy, writing, directing and marketing, Adi Gordan is sure to amuse attendees with his stand-up comedy routine. He has previously performed at venues all over the country.

Brian Hoffman will be adding magic to the evening. He has had an interest in magic since childhood; however, the birth of his son rekindled this interest. Consequently, he discovered Ring 280 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Since then he has served in several leadership positions within Ring 280 and currently he is the vice president.
