The Saugus High School Halloween Band brings seasonal spirit to life with a special performance at the annual Gilchrist Farm Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Gilchrist Farm is located at 30116 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91390.
The band will feature many spooky Fall favorites.
“We’ve worked really hard to put together a great selection of Halloween-themed songs such as Thriller, Phantom of the Opera, and Ghostbusters. Gilchrist Farm is such a great venue, we’re really looking forward to playing there again this year,” said Dylan Graves, Halloween Band leader.
Shannon Marks, co-drum major for the Saugus Instrumental Music program said Gilchrist Farm holds a special place for the Halloween Band.
“Going to Gilchrist last year was an amazing experience. It was awesome seeing all of the kids, their parents and other guests enjoying the music. I’m really happy that Gilchrist Farm invited us back this year because I think it creates better appreciation for what Saugus students do with our music program,” she said.
Halloween-themed baked goods from the Saugus Instrumental Music boosters will be for sale.
“Gilchrist Farm generously allows the boosters to do a fundraiser on the day we play. It’s wonderful community support, and helps our music program tremendously,” said Ricki Chilvers, vice president of the Saugus Instrumental Music’s 501c3.
In addition to the bake sale, the boosters will sell sodas and water.
Monica Gilchrist, owner of Gilchrist Farm, said she is happy to welcome the Saugus students again this year.
“The Saugus band brings such good cheer to everything they do, it’s a pleasure to have them play for us. Their performance last year put a smile on everyone’s face and I’m sure they will bring out the best of the Fall holiday spirit again,” she said.
The Gilchrist Farm Harvest Festival runs through Thursday, Oct. 31, featuring a pumpkin patch, fun and pig-friendly pig races, pony rides, goat milking and a petting zoo. On weekends, the farm includes music, food, crafts, archery and ax throwing.
Admission is free to see the band. Tickets for individual attractions, or a wristband for all events, can be purchased. Free parking.
