Two games on Thursday for Foothill League teams.

The No. 3 Canyon Cowboys get a visit from South Pasadena, tip-off at 5 pm. The Cowboys will look to extend their winning streak to three straight.

After dropping their first game of the season the newly minted #15 team in D2 AA West Ranch Wildcats have won five consecutive games and hit the road to Royal High School to attempt to keep it rolling. Tip-off is at 6:30 pm.

Two Foothill League teams are in action Thursday.

Saugus is off to a hot start, winners of four straight to open the season before a setback last week against a strong El Camino Real team. The Centurions should get back on track when they take on a struggling Westlake team whom they beat in the opener of the Burroughs tourney. Kickoff is at 3:15 pm from Saugus.

Canyon will hit the pitch against Notre Dame at 5 pm. The Cowboys won their first match of the season and have since gone 0-1-2 in the past three matches. Three points will be up for grabs tomorrow.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are deep into the off-season now and still making moves. Today, they received three prospects in a three-team trade with the Reds and White Sox being the partners.

Cincinatti dealt All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier to Chicago, who sent three prospects back to the Dodgers (the Dodgers sent three prospects to Cincinatti).

Acquired from the White Sox are starting pitcher Frankie Montas (their 3rd ranked prospect according to MLBPipeline.com), second baseman Micah Johnson and outfielder Trayce Thompson.

Thompson is the son of former Lakers power forward Mychal Thompson and brother to Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson.

Los Angeles Lakers

Sound the horns, the Lakers played team basketball en route to a double-digit victory!

Back home after a grueling 1-7 road trip in which the Lakers became (and remain) the lone win for the Philadelphia 76ers, among other terribleness, the Purple and Gold snapped a six-game skid last night at Staples Center.

The Lakers dominated the Milwaukee Bucks from start to finish, and Kobe Bryant (22 points) has now scored 20+ points five times in the month of December.

Rookie D’Angelo Russell played 30 minutes off the bench, dishing out a career-high seven assists to go along with his 19 points. The young point guard is showing development and more confidence in his ability after a timid start to the season, averaging 17.4 points in his last five games.

LA hosts Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets Thursday.

I gather they don’t play girls soccer out here? Come on, let’s be equitable. You completely leave out multiple games that have been played in the last 1-2 weeks. By all high schools.
