santacolorita2014The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will hold the first ever “Santa Colorita Run”, affectionately known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”, on February 15, 2014, at Castaic Lake Recreational Area.  Taking place all over the world, these fun community Runs  have become a celebration of health, happiness, individuality, and a spirit of giving back to one’s community for runners and participants of all ages…there’s only one rule…WEAR SOMETHING WHITE…anything white…and maybe some goggles…’cause you’re gonna’ get “rainbowed”!

Designed as a community-wide, family friendly event, the SCV Chamber of Commerce, Santa Colortia Run, will be a timed and un-timed, five-kilometer “race” in which the runners will be doused with “brilliant colors” at the end of each kilometer…dousing comes at the hands of family members, supporters and other attendees…brilliant colors provided in the form of a non-toxic, non-rash inducing colored corn starch, which creates a multi-colored brilliance on the runners as they get dusted from all sides…great fun and very all-American…the corn starch used for the Color Runs is produced right here in the good ol’ U. S. of A.!

The finish line will feature a gigantic and explosive, “Color Festival”, where an unbelievable amount of brilliantly colored powder will be released onto the runners, creating a kaleidoscope of once-in-a-lifetime memories, along with happiness and exhilaration.  Sound like fun?  Wanna’ get involved?  Not afraid to show your true colors?  Call the SCV Chamber of Commerce at (661) 702-6977, or visit their website at www.scvchamber.com or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SantaColorita5kFunRun for more information on sponsorships, partner opportunities and how to get involved … “Color Run 2014″…don’t be left out…you might feel blue!
