FBI officials believe a Santa Clarita bank robbery suspect, dubbed the “Faux Badge Bandit,” is the same individual who killed himself following a Goleta bank hold up last Friday. The following information is from the social media account of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department:
The Sheriff’s Office is releasing the identity of the bank robbery suspect who committed suicide several hours after robbing a bank (today), July 20, in Goleta. The decedent is 41-year-old Keith David Goodwin with ties to Fresno and San Francisco. Next of kin has been notified.
Sheriff’s detectives are continuing to follow leads and work closely with the FBI to determine Goodwin’s connection to additional bank robberies within the state of California. Goodwin is suspected of robbing at least nine banks throughout California, including Pasadena, La Verne, Claremont and Santa Clarita, in the last two months. The investigation is on-going and no additional details will be released at this time.
FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said Tuesday the investigation is on-going. However, based on the information they’ve gathered, officials believe their search for the suspect linked to multiple bank robberies throughout Southern and Northern California is over.
“We were dealing with heretofore an unidentified man,” Eimiller said. “We believe, though, that based on the M.O. and the description of the individual who robbed the bank before committing suicide, maybe the same individual (as the Faux Badge Bandit).”
The FBI believes Goodwin allegedly held up a Wells Fargo branch at the Stater Bros. supermarket in Newhall on June 15. He was dubbed the “Faux Badge Bandit” because of a seven-point, official-looking badge he wore during the robberies.

Thank you Faux badge bandit for ending like a man. No cost of other human life and court cost.
How is Stater Bros considered Newhall? Always been Canyon Country since ’68 as far as I remember.
Probably because Princess Homes = Newhall
