Both jazz choirs (2n4 and Soundwaves) at Valencia High School has made the cut during a selective process of 137 high school jazz choirs in the country to compete at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival on April 5-7. Both jazz choirs are directed by choral director Christine Tavares Mocha.

The high school vocal jazz ensemble placed first in the nation at the Next Generation Monterey Jazz Festival in Monterey last weekend, besting other public, private, and performing arts high schools across the nation.
