Assemblyman Scott Wilk
[Scott Wilk] – Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, announced that he will seek re-election to the 38th Assembly District.
“I want to continue to advocate for small business and our schools, as well as push to make government more transparent and accountable,” stated Wilk.
Keeping jobs in California is a high priority for Wilk and in his first term he played an important role in the passage of Assembly Bill 1839, the California Film and Television Job Retention and Promotion Act. California’s film tax credit will be increased to $330 million a year for five years beginning with fiscal year 2015-16.
Currently, Wilk serves as vice chairman of the Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection, as well as Budget, Governmental Organization, Business and Professions and the Joint Committee on Arts.
Wilk was first elected to the California State Assembly in 2012 and was re-elected in 2014 with 66.3%. He and his wife, Vanessa, reside in Santa Clarita and they have two adult children.
The 38th Assembly District encompasses most of Santa Clarita Valley and the northwestern communities in San Fernando Valley, as well as the city of Simi Valley in Ventura County.
