A woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery after she allegedly held up a Canyon Country bank Friday afternoon, according to officials.
LASD Major Crimes Bureau detectives and FBI agents responded to assist Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies to investigate the circumstances surrounding a robbery at the Bank of America branch in the 26500 block of Golden Valley Road.
Detectives learned that deputies from the station responded to a “robbery now” call. When the deputies arrived they determined the suspect had handed a bank teller a note demanding money because a man was holding a child hostage outside the location. The bank teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
The security doors to the bank were secured and the suspect was being detained inside the location when deputies arrived.
Deputies arrested the suspect, identified as Grace Farebaugh. She was booked for robbery and her bail is set at $50,000.00.
No one was injured at the location. Major Crimes Bureau detectives from the burglary and robbery task force believe the robbery was an isolated incident and there was no child in danger.

A CBS article said that the woman decided, sometime during the robbery, that she didn’t want the money…
