The Santa Clarita City Council is inviting residents, businesses, and community leaders to the annual State of the City Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Valencia grand ballroom.
“The State of the City Luncheon is an opportunity for the Santa Clarita residents to hear directly from its elected City Councilmembers regarding top issues in our community,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean.
This year’s theme, “A New Chapter,” will include a variety of short videos featuring the Santa Clarita City Council highlighting programs and projects such as the new 30,000 square foot library in Old Town Newhall, expansion of open space areas and trails, two additional parks, a Transit park-and-ride lot, extra parking added to the Newhall Metrolink Station, enhanced landscaped medians, traffic improvements, law enforcement achievements, and much more.
The cost of the luncheon is $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10, and includes a commemorative gift. The event is open to the public with advanced reservations.
