A power outage has been reported in the vicinity of Soledad Canyon Road and Crossglade Avenue in Canyon Country.
The outage occurred Monday at about 11:30 a.m. when a palm frond fell onto some power lines on Crossglade just north of Soledad, establishing an electrical connection in the rain.
The power lines did not fall to the ground, and a nearby Southern California Edison power pole was arcing but no fire was reported.
An Edison crew arrived shortly after the outage was reported. It is not yet known how many homes and businesses are affected.
Power is also reportedly out at Canyon Springs and Leona Cox Elementary Schools. Sheriff’s deputies report that power is down at Whites Canyon and Ranier Streets and Whites Canyon and Delight Streets.
An earlier outage was reported at 7:30 a.m. in the Agua Dulce area, affecting as many as 65 homes, while a planned outage was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in Acton to repair equipment serving 161 addresses.
