As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, the city of Santa Clarita is proud to announce the three winner’s of the Best Thing About Santa Clarita coloring contest, featuring artwork from local students.
Congratulations to the winning students of each category: First- through third-grade category, Andrew Oh of Mrs. Bove’s third-grade class from Golden Oak Elementary; Fourth- through sixth-grade category, Camille Pagkalinawan of Ms. Trafecanty’s fourth-grade class from North Park Elementary; Junior high through high-school category, Paige Gilkerson of Ms. Monteleone’s class from Arroyo Seco Junior High.
“Over the past 25 years, the city of Santa Clarita has invested in youth by providing cultural and educational activities that foster creativity and build leadership skills,” Mayor Frank Ferry said. “We thought it would be fun to celebrate our 25th anniversary with the leaders of our future.”
Special guests Ferry, City Manager Ken Pulskamp and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Fire departments will host an honorary school assembly for the third- and fourth-grade winners, and all of the children in their grade. The winner of the junior high through high school category will receive a Chick-fil-A breakfast for their class, with Ferry, Pulskamp and city staff.
School assemblies for winning artists include:
Third-grade assembly in honor of Andrew Oh on Thursday, May 31, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at Golden Oak Elementary School, located at 25201 Via Princessa.
Fourth-grade assembly in honor of Camille Pagkalinawa on Wednesday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., at North Park Elementary School, located at 23335 West Sunset Hills.
Eighth-grade breakfast hosted in honor of Paige Gilkerson on Friday, May 25, from 8:35 a.m. to 9:20 a.m., at Arroyo Seco Junior High, located at 27171 Vista Delgado Dr.
