On Wednesday, July 4, Newhall American Legion Post 507 will host its annual Indepedence Day barbeque immediately following the SCV Parade. Post 507 is located at 24527 Spruce Street in Newhall (located behind the Newhall library construction).
The American Legion is dedicated to upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States of America by promoting a 100% Americanism and a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation. Post 507 is dedicated to the principles of justice, freedom and democracy and is devoted to mutual helpfulness.
On this July 4th, be sure to take time to appreciate Santa Clarita is a community blessed with great representatives and community leaders and we are home to a business community that gives like none other. Appreciate the countless volunteer groups dedicated to providing invaluable services to those in need of a hand. It is because of those volunteers that our valley continues to be one of the greatest communities in California.
The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation’s veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership.
