The City of Santa Clarita invites residents to get in the Halloween spirit at the free 5th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest and Spooky Family Fair on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center, located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the carving begins at 6:45 p.m. so be sure to get there early as space is limited.
Watch certified SCUBA dive teams create underwater masterpieces in the depths of the Aquatics diving pool and enjoy crafts, games and trick or treating around the pool. An underwater camera will capture all the action so spectators can watch the dive teams’ progress live on a big screen while participating in various festive activities. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes.
“The City wants to provide residents with fun, festive recreational activities. The Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest is a very popular, fall event where guests of all ages are welcome,” commented Mayor Frank Ferry. “With Halloween right around the corner, this friendly competition gives residents an opportunity to experience something unique while enjoying event festivities in a safe atmosphere.”
