It is once again the time of the year to come together with friends, family and your Santa Clarita Valley neighbors and celebrate the 31st Annual National Night Out.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, in conjunction with the city of Santa Clarita, is kicking off National Night on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 4 p.m. at Central Park. The station will provide the public with the latest information on crime prevention and safety.
Locally, National Night Out Against Crime will run in conjunction with the city’s Concerts in the Park event. Hotel California (an Eagles tribute band) will be taking the stage and entertaining the crowd.
Come and enjoy displays by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Search and Rescue Team, Station Posse, along with displays from the California Highway Patrol and Target Stores.
In addition to the displays, Target Store employees will be providing free goodies for the public. Please come and join 37 million other people from across the United States and help send a powerful message to criminals letting them know your neighborhood is fighting back.
Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, “National Night Out” is a nationwide event in which over 10,000 communities participate to promote community safety. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local crime prevention efforts and programs, and send a message that our neighborhoods and residents are organized and vigilant.
Residents, business leaders, community representatives, and media professionals are invited and encouraged to attend the event.
For additional information regarding the event, contact Deputy Fanny Lapkin at (661) 255-1121 ext. 5160.
