The City of Santa Clarita is recruiting volunteers for several beautification projects including the Golden Valley Bridge Painting Project, Wildwoods Canyon Trails Maintenance, and Quigley Canyon Tree Wells and Clearing.
The Golden Valley Bridge Painting Project offers volunteer opportunities in two shifts, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Participants will help with taping off areas of the bridge to prep for painting, clean up and possibly painting. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Volunteers are also needed for the Wildwood Canyon Trails Maintenance Project. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays starting on March 4, 2015, volunteers can help with erosion control, brushing and tread-building. No prior experience is required, but volunteers must be able to hike two miles.
Residents 18 and older can volunteer for the Quigley Canyon Tree Wells and Clearing Project from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on March 14, 2015. This involves clearing rocks from trails and placing them along the sides of the trail to mark the walkway, digging tree wells around trees and removing metal fences.
Interested groups and individuals can sign up to volunteer for these and more opportunities at santaclaritavolunteers.com. For more information, contact the City’s Volunteer Engagement Program at (661) 250-3708 or volunteers@santa-clarita.com.

Thanks for your comment, but we have no reason to believe the city is reading it. You would need to call the number in the story.
Volunteers are needed for the Dagger Flat Trail in the Angeles National Forest, just 4 miles east of Sand Canyon. If you’re interested, please contact Dianne at: zuliebear@aol.com from the Community Hiking Club of Santa Clarita. THANK YOU.
