Join the Santa Clarita Public Library for these exiting FREE events as part of the “One Story, One City” reading program.
On Thursday, March 19, award-winning children’s author and illustrator Gianna Marino will visit Santa Clarita and perform readings of her book, “Following Papa’s Song.” The story is the children’s selection for the “One Story, One City” program and follows the journey of curious humpback calf, Little Blue, when he becomes lost during migration and must listen to “Papa’s” song in order to reunite with the other whales in his pod.
The free reading and discussion will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Valencia Library, and 6:00 p.m. at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library.
On Saturday, March 21, the Long Beach “Aquarium on Wheels” rolls into Santa Clarita’s Westfield Valencia Town Center. Children will be able to explore and touch marine creatures from California’s tide pools and engage in crafts, educational displays and story times. The free event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Town Center Drive, adjacent to the Pottery Barn and TGI Fridays.
