Join the Santa Clarita City Council and community members on Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. for the ribbon cutting event celebrating the completion of the Santa Clara River Trail Phase III at River Village Park.
This milestone is part of an important project led by the City to extend the Santa Clara River Trail to the Fallen Warriors Memorial Bridge and ultimately to the City’s Discovery Park. The new trail extension provides enhanced bicycle access to major destinations and employment centers throughout the City. With the completion of Phase III, the local community will benefit from the trail system which conveniently connects to a trailhead that provides parking and easy access to both the 24-acre River Village Park and open space, as well as local shops in the community.
“The multi-use trail is safely accessible for bicyclists, pedestrians, joggers and equestrians. Increasing access to our parks and open space is vital as it encourages an active and healthy lifestyle for Santa Clarita residents,” said Mayor Marsha McLean.
Future phases of the Santa Clara River extension project will expand the trail a mile and a half eastbound, from the Fallen Warriors Memorial Bridge on Golden Valley Road connecting to the existing trail at the City’s Discovery Park.

Felix Perez time to go riding
Where is this..
Need a map of this. What about the other ends?
Is this the trail that connects Newhall Ranch Road (x Bouquet) and Golden Valley? (North of Soledad?)
Excellent! Any chance of incorporating this into the marathon route? Rather than the out and back at miles 20-21, perhaps the course could go up to Golden Valley, cross the warriors bridge, and return on this path? The route would need to be shortened a bit in other areas to compensate, but we could lose the tiny out and back just after mile 23 or take out the jaunt around the debris basin at mile 16.
