Any CERT member available to provide assistance in mud removal in affected storm areas please respond to Fire Station 129 (42110 6th Street West, Lancaster) on Sunday, October 18th from 7:30 am to 5 pm.
Please bring CERT helmet, vest, gloves, long pants, closed toed shoes and goggles. Food and water provided.

Retrieve Your Abandoned Vehicle or Be Towed
In efforts to clear the roadways after the major flooding in the Elizabeth Lake, Leona Valley and Lake Hughes area, LASD and CHP are asking the owners of the abandoned vehicles to please make arrangements to retrieve their vehicles as soon as possible.
Vehicles not retrieved will be towed by LASD and CHP. For further information on vehicle storage please contact the Palmdale Sheriff Station 661.272.2400 or CHP Station 323.259.2010.
Road Closures
The following road closures are still in effect regarding the West Lake incident: LASD “hard*” Road Closures:
1) Elizabeth Lake Road, between Ranch Club Road & Godde Hill Road
2) 60th Street West and Avenue N
3) Elizabeth Lake Road and Lookabout Road
4) Elizabeth Lake Road at Lake Hughes Road
5) Munz Ranch Road at Elizabeth Lake Road
6) Munz Ranch Road at Lancaster Road
*only emergency and utility vehicles will be allowed to pass through road closures.
CHP “soft**” Road closures:
1) 90th Street West and Elizabeth Lake Road
2) Johnson Road at Elizabeth Lake Road
3) San Francisquito Road at Spunky Canyon Road
4) Bouquet Canyon Road at Spunky Canyon
5) Elizabeth Lake Road at Spunky Canyon
*California Highway Patrol has indicated they will be escorting residents through “soft” road closures. Those who are non-residents will not be allowed to pass.
o Do not drive or attempt to cross into flooded areas. Make your safety a priority.
o Major roads will be cleared first to allow emergency vehicle access into the area – please be patient with road clearance crews and emergency vehicles.
o Stay away from flood control channels, catch basins, canyons and natural waterways
o If you see someone who has been swept into moving water, Immediately call 911
o If you become isolated, seek the highest ground available and wait for help.
o Do not step into moving water around your car.
· Stay Informed – Monitor Weather
o If your cell phone coverage is limited, listen to your local AM radio stations for emergency information
· Electrical Safety – Never attempt to move or go near a downed power line
o Call 911 to report downed power lines.
o Be aware of traffic dangers due to weather, watch for traffic signals that may be out. Approach those intersections as four-way stops.
o Know how to shut off all utilities. Remember, water and electricity do not mix.
· Step Towards Recovery
o Start to document your damaged property and report it on the County’s website.
