Ricardo Medina Jr.
A 38-year-old man best known for his role in the Power Rangers television series pleaded guilty Thursday in the stabbing death of his roommate, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Ricardo Medina of Green Valley entered the plea to one felony count of voluntary manslaughter and admitted an allegation of using a sword in the killing.
Deputy District Attorney Tannaz Mokayef with the Major Crimes Division said sentencing is scheduled on March 30 in Department A11 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch. Medina faces six years in state prison.
On Jan. 31, 2015, the defendant got into an argument with his roommate, Josh Sutter, 36, over Medina’s girlfriend. The argument turned physical and Medina fatally stabbed Sutter multiple times with a sword.
Case MA067742 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
